Biography

Hello! I am a clinical dietitian at UCSF Medical Center. Ever since I was in elementary school, calculating the nutrition information of my brown bag school lunches, nutrition has been at the forefront of my mind for as long as I can remember. I had a somewhat winding path to the pursuit of a career as a registered dietitian. After a stint in the acting industry in Los Angeles, (obtaining much food service experience along the way) I returned to school at Santa Monica College to explore my interests in journalism and nutrition. Not a moment too soon, I discovered the RD career path, and knew I had finally found my calling. I have now earned my BS degree in Nutritional Sciences - Dietetics from University of California, Berkeley, and completed my dietetic internship at UCSF Medical Center.

Work Philosophy

I believe in mindful nutrition, and I am fascinated with nutrition and disease management and prevention. Poor nutrition is implicated in many chronic diseases, and I want to make a difference in this area as an RD by helping people improve health outcomes by providing medical nutrition therapy through the evidence-based practice of dietetics. I have a strong work ethic, and I am a focused, thoughtfulthorough, detail-oriented perfectionist, qualities which serve me well in clinical practice as an RD. I value honesty, integrity, and information accuracy.

Career Goals

Upon completion of my dietetic internship at UCSF Medical Center, I passed the registration exam for dietitians and began working at UCSF Medical Center as a clinical dietitian in 2018. A career as a clinical registered dietitian perfectly encapsulates my interests in medicine and nutrition. In my current role as a per diem dietitian, I cover various inpatient services, including adult critical care, general surgery, general medicine, malignant hematology, kidney and liver transplant, cardiology & cardiothoracic surgery, along with pediatric transitional and critical care and adolescent medicine. I aim to obtain specialized certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician as I continue to provide meaningful, empathetic patient care in the inpatient setting.
